Digital law in dialogue: Research exchange between MUNI, RI and the University of Vienna in Brno
On 22 June 2026, legal scholars from Masaryk University (MUNI), the Research Institute (RI) and the University of Vienna’s Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law (ID Law) met once again in Brno, Czech Republic, to discuss current research projects and explore opportunities for future cooperation.
The topics ranged from notice obligations under the Digital Services Act and projects in the healthcare sector to biometric identification in the context of platform work, copyright enforcement and e-justice, as well as challenges surrounding access to cultural heritage in the digital age.
The Research Institute was represented by Ing. Dr. Christof Tschohl, Mag. Jan Hospes and Dr. Mirjam Tercero. They presented several ongoing projects as well as a recent research paper examining the use of personal data for AI training under the law as it currently stands and in light of the proposed Digital Omnibus.
