Profile
Tünde Fülöp, MAES is a Senior Expert and COO at the Research Institute – Digital Human Rights Center. She studied law at the University of Vienna and at the Universidade Católica in Lisbon, then European Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges/Natolin). She worked as research assistant at the Europainstitut of the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and as legal adviser and head of unit at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (International Law Office), the Austrian Federal Chancellery (Constitutional Service) and the Parliamentary Service. As data protection officer at the MFA, she was responsible for implementing the GDPR, data protection audits and setting up a data protection management system.
Her main areas of expertise are European Union law (institutions, external relations, democratic principles and fundamental rights), and data protection (lawfulness, DPIA and risk assessment, international data transfers, data protection management and privacy by design). At RI her tasks include research, consultancy and workshops on EU digital regulation and digital human rights (including AI Act, DGA, DSA, DMA and DA and fundamental rights impact assessment).
She is an experienced speaker and lecturer in EU and data protection law. Her lecturing activities include presentations at various scientific conferences, and seminars and trainings on EU institutional law, democracy in the EU, EU external relations law and data protection at the Federal Academy of Administration, the Diplomatic Academy and the MFA. She has published on democracy and institutions in the EU and EU external representation.
