Profile

Philipp Poindl, Mag. iur., LL.M. studied law at the University of Vienna, specialising in computer and law as well as information and media law, and has also acquired basic knowledge of web development through corresponding further training units. At the Research Institute – Digital Human Rights Centre, he is currently primarily working as a senior researcher in research related to artificial intelligence. Previously, he gained various professional experiences in the legal field. Most recently, he also worked as a research assistant in the Legal Informatics Working Group (ARI) at the University of Vienna.

He is the author of various specialist publications, most recently the commentary on Article 27 AI Act (Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments) as part of the co-authored ‘The EU Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act: A Commentary’ published by Pehlivan/Forgó/Valcke in Kluwer Law International.
His aim is to advocate a human-centred approach to technology design and regulation in his work.
